In this issue meet the charismatic Swiss tattoo artist Jessica Vittorelli, the cover girl of this issue as well as tattooist specialised in Black and Grey Realism.
Let’s get to know Edgard Marquez, a tattooist hailing from Mexico who lives and works in Los Angles where he creates his art, dark and bizarre that he likes to define as “surreal dark art” or “dark bio”.
We travel to Tenerife, the famous island in the Spanish archipelago of the Canaries, to meet Amayra, whose hallmark is tattoos which envelope the body in large scale pieces in a style rooted in Neo Traditional and Oriental.
The name Oyabun might suggest a place devoted exclusively to Japanese tradition but actually, behind this name lies a philosophy deeply rooted in tattoo as a whole. As well as a mission which Yushi and the rest of the team have set themselves as he tells us in this interview we did at Oyabun Tattoo in San Diego.
We meet Edo Horihiro, author of the new book published by Tattoo Life “The Visionary Soul of Edo Horihiro”. In this article we discover more about the unconventional vision of Ukiyo-e he creates in his artworks and tattoos.
She’s a deejay on the Techno, Hard Core and Eurodance scene. She is Ukrainan by birth but now she lives in Bali. She is Lissa, the tattoo model we’d like to present in this issue.
In Barcelona we meet Melow Perez at his own studio Folk Tattoo where he creates his big size tattoos, a mix of Ornamental and Tribal style.
A piece of tattoo history is present in the photos of Akimitsu Takagi, “The Tattoo Writer” famous for his archive gathering a collection of nearly 200 black and white photographs taken by him, one of the most important testimonies of the history of Japanese tattoo in the twentieth century.
