A collection of 51 plates in which Singapore tattooist Augustine of Give Me Love Tattoo presents a third study of tattoo. As his point of departure he takes pure sketches, a play of black lines running across the white page, sometimes bold to contain, other times fine for the detail. Augustine presents the drawings in two dimensions like sheets of paper propped up against a dummy. And there is just a hint of the body, outlined in red. The subjects are chrysanthemum flowers, demonic masks surrounded by snakes and other classic designs of Asian tradition, from daruma to Tibetan skulls. A thorough study as a starting point for anyone looking for neutral, basic ideas for the execution of a tattoo in the Asian style.
